PRO July Snippets

At a time when many clubs cannot field teams due to members not wishing to travel to away games congratulations to Ali Coleman (Ballymena) who flew home from GAWA duties in Paris to play his Singles QF and then returned the next morning in time for the next N Ireland match – and his reward? A Semi Final game against his father!
Keeping on the GAWA theme it was great to meet so many PGL bowlers in planes, metro stations and French stadia.
The Sen and Jun cups have reached the Semi Final stage with Dunbarton and Old Bleach in with a chance of a Double.
August will see the Championship Semi Finals and Finals held at Forth River. As well as the Coleman family contest in the Senior Singles – G Eaton (Salisbury) plays M McPeak ( Belmont).
Two great Leads who now have been re programmed at Skips ( M Nutt & A Montgomery) clash in the Open Fours.
In the Senior Fours last seasons British Isles Champions skipped by R Horner will clash with R Torrington’ s four who failed by one shot in Wales last week attempting to retain the title for Ireland.
In the other half N McNally ( Old Bleach) plays J Coulter ( Ballymena)
Finally as we near the mid season break the league leaders are – Dunbarton A, Falls A, Pickie B , Old Bleach B and Transport B. Midweek leaders are Ards and Salusbury.
Happy July break.
