The greens may be closed and outdoor bowls put away for the season but there is much to be done and many very important decisions to be made by your club administrators.
Often bowlers ignore this aspect of their game but you need to be informed and ensure that your representatives to Management committee meetings and the AGM are expressing the views of your club members.
Our great game is under threat. Membership down, clubs having problems fielding teams, games being cancelled, competition entries down….. the trend is clear. We need to do something and do it quickly to address the decline.
Will that be 3 rink leagues, allowing ladies to help smaller clubs ( and maybe bigger clubs) to field teams, reorganising capitation fees to bring more money into the association or further restructuring leagues?
Your reps have details of several notices of motion going before the AGM – clubs need to discuss the options and guide your reps in how to vote on them.
It is too important to ignore!
