A Management Committee meeting last night heard that the NIPGBL had approved a financial donation to the Bowls Ireland Regional Academies. Mark Tait was confirmed as the new Honorary Competitions Secretary. Emerging from discussion on the rule change to admit lady bowlers to league and cup competitions, it was felt that clubs planning to field lady bowlers should inform their opponents in advance so that provision for suitable changing arrangements could be made.

At the subsequent Special General Meeting all three Notices of Motion were approved. Changes to rule 4 (h) will limit the number of players able to play for more than one team within a club in the same round of league fixtures. League rules will be updated soon on the website and clubs should ensure they are aware of the content of this new rule and its implications for team selection before the start of the season.

The business transacted at last night’s GP Committee meeting included discussion on transport and accommodation arrangements for the junior inter-association series in Dublin in July. A full calendar for league, cup and championship fixtures was agreed and will be published shortly. The responsibilities attached to the role of Webmaster will be shared by Damian Bintley (Belmont) and Brian Leonard (NICS).
